In the cold halls of Elsinore a young prince mourns his father in a solitary pas de deux with a phantom. His mother dances joyously with the new king, his uncle, while the prince's grief curdles into a feigned madness. He turns from Ophelia, whose love unwinds into a drowning solo by the river. A duel breaks the court: blades cross, poison spreads, and the prince falls beside the uncle he has finally struck down.
Hamlet is a space for development and exploration. Drawing on the play's enduring themes, the company tests new movement language, builds choreographic voice, and presents a contemporary reading of a familiar work.
Presented at the Royal Opera House, this staging marks the company's return to full-length narrative ballet after two seasons of one-act programmes.
Tickets are general admission and available across all price tiers; a limited number of concession seats are released ahead of each performance which help support the creation and presentation of new work like Hamlet.
